ACTIVISM IS NOT A CRIME!

>

On World Ocean's Day, Greenpeace volunteers from Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver joined the international movement in support of the TOKYO TWO. Many many thanks to everyone who came out to show support on this very important issue.

Ottawa

On December 7, 2009, the first day of the crucial UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, Greenpeace Canada climb teams hung large banners on the south wall of the west block of the Canadian parliament buildings that read, “Harper/Ignatieff: Climate Inaction Costs Lives“. The team of 5 that Glenn (from ecoSanity) volunteered to participate with put up a smaller, tar sands banner above the entrance on the east wing of the main block. National press ensued.

Glenn was honoured to have been involved with so many extraordinary people. They all deserve to be commended for their astounding dedication, preparation, implementation; for the risks undertaken; and for the individual sacrifices made in order to carry out this essential action.

NO WARMING! NO WAR!

Help Right Now

Critical habitat for the unique Marbled Murrelet is still at risk from logging. Please send British Columbia’s Premier Gordon Campbell and Forests and Range Minister Pat Bell an email. Encourage them to keep their promise in a timely way to the Great Bear Rainforest Agreements and EBM to ensure protection for the marbled murrelet and its habitat.

Help Greenpeace keep the B.C. coast clean and free of oil spills. The Canadian government is considering a proposal from Enbridge to build twin pipelines from Alberta’s tar sands to Kitimat on northern B.C.’s Great Bear Rainforest.
